As a sea of red, white and blue sweeps across the UK, and we prepare for a weekend full of patriotic celebrations to mark the Coronation of King Charles III, we are rolling out the Union Jack bunting for a jelly-tastic Coronation party here at Sun Jellies HQ!
For such a momentous event, it’s only right that we throw a party fit for a King! And in our eyes, no party is complete without joyful jelly favours! Our Mini Retro Baskets are perfect for the occasion! Uber cute and small enough to sit neatly in each place setting, they’re the perfect size to fill with party novelties and treats, ready for a right Royal knees-up!
We’ve filled our jelly favour bags with Union Jack flags, novelty glasses, and chocolate golden coins! As a keepsake gift, we’ve added an iconic red London bus keychain to each favour bag… something to remind our guests of their Coronation celebrations!
What better way to celebrate the King’s Coronation than with a traditional British afternoon tea! We have finger sandwiches with a selection of traditional fillings, including ham and English mustard, egg and watercress, and cucumber. These are served alongside ‘best of British’ sausage rolls and scotch eggs.
Of course, we want to experience a little of what King Charles III, Queen Consort Camilla, and their guests will be enjoying at their official Coronation lunch, so we’ve also added a Coronation Quiche to our feast.
No afternoon tea would be complete without some sweet treats. We have quintessentially British scones with strawberry jam and clotted cream – a staple on any afternoon tea menu – along with cherry bakewell tarts, a Victoria sponge cake, blueberries, and popcorn… all bringing a touch more red, white and blue to our dinner table!
Last, but by no means least… refreshments to match the celebratory mood! We’ll be toasting with English sparkling wine, and washing down our Victoria sponge with Earl Grey and English Breakfast Tea, in a tea cup, of course! There you have it… Royal party ready!
